Skill building activities

Students attend Umberslade Nurseries as part of their Preparation for Life and Independence Plus course. They play a crucial role in maintaining, planting and harvesting our produce, learning about horticulture and experiencing the outdoor environment. This way, they're exposed to various aspects of gardening, are able to connect with the environment.

Spend quality time with nature

At Umberslade Nurseries, we have greenhouses and pollytunnels with lots of plants. Our outdoor learning gives students with learning disabilities and difficulties a chance to benefit from a hands-on approach to learning and development. Our retail outlet also offers a range of ornamental home and garden items. After going for a stroll in our garden, you can visit our cosy coffee shop and treat yourself to some great food and coffee.
